Kiambu County’s Witeithie Ward Rep Julius Macharia Taki will be charged with contravention of the National Flag, Emblems and Names Act after he was arrested for branding his vehicle with image of Deputy President William Ruto in Military attires.
His Toyota Hiace KCQ 918U is branded with image of Ruto portraying him as Commander in Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces. Also it has graffiti of the Coat of Arms and National Flag, which police treat as an offence.

Taki was arrested by DCI officers alongside his driver George Ngugi Kiarie at around 8pm and were booked at Juja Police Station under OB No. 93/27/5/2019.

“The motor vehicle has been detained at Juja Police Station yard awaiting photography and further investigation. They are to be arraigned at Thika court for the offence of contravening section 3(a) cap 99 Laws of Kenya of the National Flag, Emblems and Names Act” Police stated.
