Joyce Wanja ‘Wagichungumwa’ who claims she was beaten by Gatundu MP Moses Kuria at the Royal Media offices has refused to have the case at Milimani Law Courts settled outside the court.
The assault on December 8, 2019 as Kuria and Wagichungumwa prepared to go on air on Inooro TV’s “Kiririmbi” show was reported at Kilimani Police station, leading to a brief arrest of Kuria.
The case has been going on at Milimani and last week Kuria begged the court to allow him negotiate an alternative resolution with Wagichungumwa.
Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku gave Kuria until today to negotiate the deal failure to which the case would proceed.
The deal did not work for Kuria as Wagichungumwa, an activist has declined what the MP offered.
This means Kuria will defend himself in the not-so easy case. Already five witnesses are ready to testify when it resumes on April 8 and 9, 2021.
Kuria’s lawyer Geoffrey Omenke told the court today the parties were unable to reach an agreement.
