Grace Wambui Kanuthu the daughter of late singer Wakahalf went missing in mysterious circumstances in Kiambu on April 19 and though she has been found in Murang’a how she disappeared looks like an abduction.
Gikuyu Bulletin has learnt that she was secretly picked from her uncle’s place by a woman allegedly sent by her grandmother Grace Kanuthu. When people were frantically looking for her she was hidden in Murang’a.
The 13-year-old standard six pupil disappeared from her uncle’s house in Ruaka area. About 20 days later this week the family announced they found her.
It is suspected the orphan was lured by woman she knows. When it was established how she was taken away, her grandmother was threatened she would be reported to police she disclosed Wambui’s whereabouts.

The first born of “Ino Ni Momo” hit maker lived with her grandmother since Wakahalf died in June 2015. Her mother Josephine Wanjiku (Nyatoro) passed on earlier. Wambui reportedly suffered under her cucu prompting her maternal uncle to taker her.
“The girl was okay under care of her uncle and they had no problem with her grandmother who is their in-law. So it is shocking why she came for her in such manner that can be equated to abduction. The uncle has decided to let her stay with the girl” a source revealed.
Word has it that Kanuthu had been advised by some women to take Wambui back and then use her to solicit for help from well-wishers.
