Detectives from the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit which is under the Directorate of Criminal investigations have arrested a 34-year-old woman who sent terror threat letters laced with poison to an Embassy and a Commissioner General of Kenya Prisons.
Tracy Wairimu Ndegwa was arrested in Utawala yesterday after she sent two letters to a High Commission in Nairobi on July 31.
The two letters suspected to be a terror threat were sprayed with an industrial chemical and the other with hay fever pesticides.
According to DCI, Wairimu threatened one of the bosses in the commission to facilitate travel documents and residence to an unnamed person.
She threatened her target saying; “We will assault you and break your bones, we will rape you in turns and put explosives where you think you are safest.”
In June she sent a similar letter to Commissioner General of the Kenya Prisons Services, was arrested and arraigned at Kibera Law Courts but was released on cash bail.
The letter to the senior cop was also a terrorism hoax.
