A member of Akurinu Church was arraigned in Milimani Law Courts today charged with conspiracy to steal Sh26 million from Equity Bank.

Joshua Kirika Ndung’u was charged that between November last year and April 2019 with others committed the said crime.

The Wagithomo was also charged with handling stolen goods worth Sh103, 000 belonging to Equity Bank.

Ndung’u was also caught with stolen items belonging to Equity Bank.

“On April 28 at unknown place within the republic of Kenya otherwise than in the course of stealing dishonestly received in your family bank Sh64,840 knowingly or having reasons to believe it to be stolen money,” the charge sheet read.

He denied the charges, claiming the said money was transferred to his account by his cousin. He was released on Sh300, 000 bond or Sh200, 000 cash bail. The case will continue on June 24.
