President Uhuru Kenyatta’s mother, Mama Ngina gave a rare media interview today afternoon outside All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi where she expressed doubt with leadership of current generation.

The former First Lady spoke after the memorial service of late billionaire Jeremiah Kiereini who died aged on May 14 aged 90 and was cremated two days later.

“If current generations are trustworthy like the previous generations, this country would be far ahead” she said in Kikuyu.

She praised the late powerful civil servant as one who played vital role in running the government then led by her late husband Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.

“People like Kiereini made the Kenya we have today. Foundations they laid down have reached this country here” she said.

She added; “I ask the young generation you respect your country so we grow in the right way. You bring up your children with trust and love for the nation”.

The memorial service was attended by among other leaders, former Attorney Generals Charles Njonjo and Githu Muigai and Royal Media Services Chairman S.K. Macharia.
