Nyandarua county is inarguably one of areas in Kenya with the worst road network.

This came to light this week during the burial of Alice Njoki Njoroge in Olborosat village, Shamata ward where mourners turned to donkeys to get her body home.

Their journey from JM Kariuki Hospital Mortuary came to an embarrassing stop mid-way after the hearse and other vehicles stuck in the mud. They hired donkey-pulled cart to proceed with the journey home.

Residents have for years called on the government to build passable roads but their pleas have fell on deaf ears.
