Vocal nominated senator Isaac Mwaura and his counterpart in Tangatanga wing Senator Millicent Omanga have been kicked out of Jubilee party alongside five colleagues.
Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju in a statement said the national Management Committee met today and discussed the report filed by the party’s disciplinary committee.
The sevens; Mwaura, Omanga, Seneta Mary Yiane, Waqo Naomi Jilo, Prengei Victor, Iman Dekow and Gona Christine Zawadi were expelled on grounds of disciplinary violations.
Last year in October Omanga, Iman, Waqo, Prengei and Yiane were ejected from the party for failing to attend President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Parliamentary Group meeting at State House.
That time Tuju said they would take action against rebels in parliament including a recall. The five were expelled for ‘gross insubordination and misconduct’.
“They received messages and did not even bother to send apologies for not attending the meeting,” he said.
This time round the list of rebel nominated senators has included Mwaura and Zawadi.
The senators had appeared before the committee last year and this year on grounds of disciplinary matters as per article 13 of the party’s law.
“The NMC in exercising its mandate provided or under article 7 (2a) of the party’s constitution and relying on other enabling provisions of the party law has expelled the following senators, ” the statement read.
The expulsion is immediate and the same has been communicated to the senate and registrar of political parties but they have been given right to make an appeal.
