Police in Kahawa West shoot dead a child

A reckless cop shot dead a two-year-old boy in Soweto, Kahawa West after he opened fire following a disagreement with chang’aa sellers yesterday evening.

He was in company of other police officers and were collecting bribes from the illegal liquor dealers. To scare them, he opened fire and shot the boy into his stomach.

The boy identified as Duncan Githinji died as he was being rushed to Kiambu Level Five Hospital.

Angry residents lit bonfires on the road.

Residents lit bonfires along the bypass protesting the heinous act and have called the Independent Policing Oversight Authority to take action.

It has been a daily trend for the law enforcers to take bribes from chang’aa and other illegal businesses operators in Soweto and Kahawa West.
