Detectives from Directorate of Criminal Investigations have discovered part of the consignment of fertilizer reported stolen while on transit from Mombasa to Busia.

About 560 bags of 50 kilogrammes of DAP fertilizer were reportedly stolen from the trailer on Saturday and it was reported at Changamwe police station in Mombasa.

Investigations led to discovery of 250 bags in an Agrovet in Kieni East. The business owner identified as Samuel Ndumia, 39 was arrested.

The trailer driver, Benard Waisa who was interrogated after the purported theft led the detectives to Ndumia who had sold the other bags. They will be arraigned in court next week.
