Bishop Bernard Muthoga second wedding to gospel singer Catherine Wangeci Thiong’o went down well today at Muthua-ini African Independent Pentecostal Church (AIPCA) in Nyeri.
The AIPCA Bishop divorced gospel musician Regina Wangui Muthoga of the song “Ii Niwe Aca Tiwe”. He accused her of infidelity, cruelty and abandoning her matrimonial home and their three young children.
Today, the much-awaited was attended by Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga alongside Kieni MP Kanini Kega, Tetu MP Gichuhi Mwangi, Former National Oil Corporation and business mogul Daniel Wamahiu, several Bishops, clergy and locals.
“I urged the congregation to value family ties by being open to dialogue when disagreements arise simply because, when a home stands, the church stands and the whole country stands” Kahiga stated.
Veteran gospel singer Hezeh Ndung’u lead the praise and worship. The now Mrs Muthoga is an upcoming musician. One of her songs is; “Kaba Kwambata Kirima”.
Muthoga’s parents expressed joy saying they are pleased that their son can start all over again.
Wangeci’s parents said they are pleased their daughter got a respectable husband and “a shoulder she can lay her head on”.
The wedding was presided over by Bishop Peter Muiruri of AIPCA Nakuru Diocese.
