Popular gospel musician Regina Wangui Macharia, previously known as Regina Muthoga was emotional as she witnessed her new husband jet out of the country at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
She in company of her children and friends had escorted Nicholas Ng’ang’a Njoroge to the airport to make his return to America.
Regina and Njoroge wedded in April after the singer divorced with AIPCA Bishop Bernard Muthoga last year. Muthoga and Regina had wedded in 2002. The bishop married a gospel singer Catherine Wangeci in June last year.
In a short video as they arrived at the airport, Regina told her hubby she was about to cry and even after he comforted her, she admitted she will not be able to hold.
On her Facebook page she captioned it thus; “As long as we share the same sky US and Kenya..and breathe the same air, we’re still together my love”.
Her husband is based in USA and had to come to Kenya for them to solemnize their union at Sigona ACK Church.
Their wedding was televised live on Njata TV and on Facebook as it happened during the COVID-19 crisis period.
She walked down the aisle two days after the burial of her father Samuel Macharia was an Archdeacon at African Independent Pentecostal Churches of Africa (AIPCA).
Regina shot to limelight during the burial of Nyeri Governor Nderitu Gachagua in 2017. In front of President Uhuru Kenyatta, other leaders and live TV cameras she danced vigorously and became popular overnight.
