Fire broke out this afternoon at Barclays Bank in Murang’a town, hours after their four ATMs were tampered with and robbed more than Sh11 million over the Easter weekend.

Fire fighters responded to calls by residents who noticed smoke at around 1pm emanating from the bank that is in the town near Amica Savings and Credit Sacco.

The incident comes at a time questions have been raised after their ATMS in the city were robbed about Sh11.6 million in well-orchestrated theft between Thursday and Saturday.
