Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has until Thursday to agree with his accuser for a settlement outside court in the assault case he is facing.
Kuria has been charged with assault of Joyce Wanja ‘Wagichungumwa’, an activist, at the Royal Media offices in December 8, 2019.
It is alleged the MP descended on Wanja with blows and slaps as they prepared to go on air on the Inooro TV’s show “Kiririmbi”.
The matter was reported at Kilimani Police station and Kuria was subsequently arrested and released.
Late January he begged the court to allow him talk to Wanja for an alternative resolution.
Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku has given Kuria until February 4 to confirm whether they have reached an agreement with Wanja for the case to be withdrawn.
His lawyer Geoffrey Omenke claimed they have agreed an outside court settlement.
