Mount Kenya University founder and Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation chairman Simon Gicharu has turned down a job he was offered by embattled Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu.

Gicharu was appointed by Waititu to head a committee on pending bills but he rejected the offer saying he was not consulted.

Waititu after he was arrested by anti-corruption officers. MKU founder refused job offer from him.

“Basic courtesy should have dictated that they reach out to me before making such an important announcement. At least by doing so, they would have got my views on whether I have the knowledge, skills and time to discharge such a huge task,” Gicharu stated yesterday.

Word has it that the businessman who is a close friend of Kiambu former Governor William Kabogo opted not to have links with stained Waititu.
