Mugithi artist Timothy Njuguna alias Mighty Salim is no more.
Mighty passed on yesterday after an event on Saturdy to remember their older brother Paul Mwangi popularly known as Salim Junior who succumbed to chest complications at War Memorial Hospital in Nakuru on January 23, 2016.
Junior’s fifth anniversary event was held at 022 Gardens in Kahawa West and was attended by horde of notable musicians.
The sad news shocked his fans who took to social media to mourn the one-man guitar Mighty.
It was not clear what happened but Mighty has been battling kidney failure since November 2018.
In 2019 a fundraiser was held to raise Sh2.5 million that Mighty needed for a kidney transplant. Through wellwishers, some politicians and family members the money was raised and he was treated.

His death is another blow to the Subukia family of Mzee Joseph Salim Mwangi.
In mid-2019 the Salims lost their sibling Dorcas Salim alias Mso Domsa who succumbed to cancer.
Mighty was brother to musicians; late Salim junior, Naomi Salim, Sarafina Salim, Salim Young and late Dorcas Salim.
“Juzi tu bro at 022 kamiti road anniversary ya jnr, you drove us to kiamumbi and later I went home. Shine on your way bro.” Salim Young mourned him.
He was close to his late brother and was quoted saying he was yet to recover from his death.

Salim Junior introduced Mighty to mugithi genre entertainment and they were supportive of each other, opening doors to their younger siblings.
He was living at Kahawa West with his family and had established a music production studio there.
