Embattled City Governor Mike Sonko will go home the way Ferdinand Waititu was sent packing, Nairobi MCAs have declared.
On Tuesday Sonko entered a pact with national government to run some city services. This was a move to protect him from impeachment but the ward reps insist they will get him out.
Minority Chief Whip Peter Imwatok says Sonko’s move has motivated them to impeach him now.
Imwatok who moved the impeachment motion says next week they will have the first-time governor heading out of City hall.
Minority leader David Mberia and other MCAs have supported the move saying it is time Sonko is rendered a mwananchi and Mheshimiwa anymore.
“Sonko and his allies have led this city into a hole. And also sycophancy has ruined the assembly’s ability to hold the county administration to account” Mberia says.
