Commuters stranded at Ngong after matatus protest.

Commuters shuttling between Nairobi and Ngong are stranded after a number of saccos refused to operate protesting the entry of Super Metro sacco.

Super Metro started operation on Monday, exciting commuters who have suffered in the hands of some rogue operators along the route.

Fearing competition, the other operators have paralysed operations.

Matatus parked at Ngong terminus to block Super Metro operators.

In the morning some operators ferrying goons attempted to block the road at Karen.

The sacco which started started with Nairobi-Kikuyu and Nairobi-Juja routes where they charged relatively lower as compared to their competitors.

In Thika it challenged Kenya Mpya, Neo Kenya Mpya and Joy Kenya Mpya buses and now it has been expanding tentacles to other routes.

Protest started early in the morning.

They announced the Ngong entry with a message thus; “NGONG HERE WE ARE!. We hope and trust that you are well. Many thanks to the entire Ngong fraternity for welcoming us warmly into your home.With a heart full of gratitude, we say thank you”.

Their entry was expected to ruffle feathers as the route has been dominated with notorious operators and gangs who harass operators.
