Man accused of spreading hate in Rift Valley arrested

Hateful Tweet posted by Dennis Kiptoo Mutai (pictured)

A Kericho man who posted on Twitter statement that implied planned violence if Deputy President William Ruto is not voted for Presidency in 2022 has been arrested.

Dennis Kiptoo Mutai posted; “…But I must say a bitter truth to Kenyans. If Uhuru betrays Ruto, then everyone should be prepared for the repeat of 200/08. Its going to be worst. Uhuru can’t take us for a ride. We are not his asshole. Deni lazima ilipwe”.

The Ruto diehard supporter was arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations officers in Kericho this afternoon. He was on run since he made the hateful statement on January 9, 2019.

Dennis Kiptoo Mutai led out of his hiding by cops.

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) while announcing his arrest stated that Mutai will be arraigned in Court to answer charges of ethnic contempt contravening provisions of the National Cohesion and Integration Act 2008.

“NCIC continues to condemn increasing level of ethnic and political polarisartion, intolerance and hooliganism during this phase of heightened 2022 succession politics”.

“Its going to be worst. Uhuru can’t take us for a ride. We are not his asshole. Deni lazima ilipwe”

“The commission together with other security agencies will not relent in ensuring that hatemongers face the law. We are calling on all Kenyans to embrace tolerance, restraint and respect diversity”. The commission added.

Sensing danger, Mutai posted on his Facebook yesterday stating; “This latter has references to latest media and public outburst on comments I allegedly made on Twitter. My comments were quoted out of context and in bad Faith by Negative attitude bloggers and Media”.

“My comments meant the ferocity and strength that PNU worn the election in 2007_08.
That I predict Dr William Ruto is going to win election of 2022 Just the way Mwai Kibaki won. It will be surprising”.
