Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has urged Mugithi one-man guitarist Mighty Salim to stop holding fundraisers to meet Sh2.5 million he needs for kidney transplant.
Kuria said he will see how the bill will be handled through NHIF and other channels.
He told Mighty’s fans who had gathered at Homeland Hotel on Friday night for Mighty’s second fundraiser. The event coincided with an event to celebrate slain Benga musician John De’Mathew who was laid to rest on Saturday.
The first harambee was held in March at Turacco Village Inn. Mighty was diagnosed with kidney failure in October 2018. From 2013 he has been suffering from diabetes.
He says his hope now lies on Kuria’s promise because his fans opted to go back home with what they wanted to contribute.
