Kenya Airways has sent home employee who had courage to film a plane landing with 239 Chinese in Kenya and passing without screening on Wednesday at a time killer Coronavirus that started in China is spreading.
Gire Ali took a video that circulated on social media raising concerns why Kenya was allowing Chinese entry without proper screening while most countries have terminated journeys to and from China.
It now appears their arrival was supposed to be a secret affair. Also they had not been screened properly and even government urged them to quarantine themselves.
Kenyans are unhappy and fear is rife how safe we are. But before the matter is dealt with satisfactorily, KQ has suspended Ali.
Yesterday KQ Human Resource Manager Evelyne Munyoki suspended Ali. She told him to avail himself to investigating team.
She wrote; “Following a report of video recording of China Southern Airline aircraft at JKIA and circulation of the video clip widely on social media on February 26th February 2020, and your alleged involvement to the matter, it has been decided that you be suspended from duty with effect from 27th February 2020”.
