The raid today was prompted by previous one in January 31 when police and KRA officers discovered 312, 000 litres of illicit products, raising concerns on safety of what revelers drink in these products.

Unaccustomed spirits were found hidden under maize bags. The company senior officers were charged with tax evasion and other offences.

The operation is part of the government’s ongoing campaign against illicit trade aimed at ensuring compliance with tax and consumer protection laws.
