A matatu conductor identified as James Njuguna is being praised for handing back excess money he was given by a passenger.
Njuguna works with a 14-seater KAQ 554H which is under the Transworld Sacco that plies Wangige-Nairobi route.
Loise Wambui, a commuter says his honesty startled other passengers when he run to hand the Sh100 extra he learnt a passenger handed him and disembarked.
The said passenger, a mother boarded at Ndenderu with her two kids and was charged Sh50 up to M-soil area. But after she alighted Njuguna realised she instead gave Sh150.
“The conductor realised there was 100bob inside the folded 50bob and asked the driver to stop at around Chrisco. He ran all the way back shouting at the Lady who had already crossed the road and gave her the extra money. I really liked his honesty.” Wambui posted.
Fellow matatu operators and passengers who know Njuguna described him as humble and honest man who serves commuters with decorum.
