Thugs vandalising streetlights in Thika said were hired by Kiambu administration.

Over 20 streetlights in Thika have been vandalised in the last two months and now it appears it is an organised destruction funded by politicians.

Thika Town MP Patrick Wainaina wa Jungle claims the Kiambu County government is behind the destruction of the street lamps he installed. The affected areas being along Thika-Mang’u Road and Gatuanyaga-Munyu Road.

Goons hired to vandalise Thika Town’s MP lighting projects.

Today morning goons were cornered vandalising the streetlamps and after interrogation they admitted they were hired by the county government to fight Wa Jungle projects.

“This morning at around 3am, some thieves contracted by the County were caught stealing streetlight led lamps at Karibaribi and a second set of thieves caught at Gatuanyaga” Wa Jungle said.

Thika Town MP Patrick Wainaina wa Jungle’s lighting project started last year.

Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has been accused of fighting the lower Kiambu which is largely seen as his predecessor William Kabogo’s turf.
