In the wake of rising cases of suicide, a minor has killed himself at his aunt’s place in Elburgon, Nakuru hours after he left his home in Kiambu.

14-year-old Fredrick Kibugi, a Form one student at Elburgon DEB Secondary School travelled over 190 kilometres to hang himself.

He left home in Kiambu yesterday morning to visit his aunt Teresia Mugure in Elburgon. She used to visit her during holidays since 2006.

Mugure says he didn’t look troubled when he arrived at her place. He watched TV but instead of retiring to bed he hanged himself and did not leave behind a suicide note.

“I realised he left his bedroom lights on. I called him but there was no response. I peeped, found his body dangling on a rope from the roof” Mugure said.
