Kenya Power is putting up a power substation in Gataka-ini area of Gatanga, Murang’a county at a cost of Sh326 Million so to connect residents to the power grid.
When complete, the 7.5 megavolt amperes will give 7, 000 households electricity. It will extend power provision to some parts of Kiambu county.
Kenya Power Manger Harrison Kamau says the project is 65 percent complete and by end of this year it will be complete.
Besides households, the project is expected to boost industries and facilitate establishment of others.
