Items stolen from miller in Makuyu discovered, five arrested

Items worth Sh2 million stolen from Cornstar Maize Millers in Makuyu, Murang’a county were discovered by detectives and five suspects have been apprehended.

Officers from Directorate of Criminal Investigations recovered 387 bales of Cornstar flour and other stolen items in Utawala and Thome estates in Nairobi.

Those who were arrested in connection with the theft are Duncan Kihumba Watata, Stephen Ng’ang’a Kimani, Patrick Mwangi Mbugua, Anthony Kimani Mwaniki, and Edward Mwangi Chege.

Three other suspected connected with the theft were arrested earlier and charged.

The millers identified the recovered items as those stolen from their facility.
