Heavy traffic jam experienced on Thika Road as section of it is closed


Saturday morning was a hell to many motorists using Thika road.

They were stuck for more than two hours as section of the road at the Garden City Hall has been closed by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) to allow erection of a footbridge.

KeNHA had announced that a section of the Thika Superhighway would be closed for 5 days starting August 21.

Motorist were stuck for over two hours.

Motorists have been advised to use exit 8 at Kasarani, follow the Babadogo road and join Thika Road via the Outering road.

Those headed to Thika will be diverted to use the alternative routes behind Mountain Mall.

Motorists used diversion routes.

KeNHA has asked motorists to exercise caution around the work areas and adhere to the traffic directions given my traffic marshals.
