Controversial Bishop David Gakuyo claims he was set to deputise newly Kiambu Governor James Nyoro. The post was given to Joyce Ngugi.

Gakuyo claims it was the wish of Nyoro to have him take the post after he was elevated to governor following the impeachment of Ferdinand Waititu.

“To those who wanted me to be the deputy governor. You have talked about it. The truth is Nyoro wished me to be his deputy but after a meeting with elders we agreed I be his political advisor and Joyce be the deputy” Gakuyo claimed.

He says his responsibility as Nyoro’s political advisor will have more influence than the role of deputy governor.

“I will not engage Nyoro with politics. Now I have a bigger job than that of deputy governor. Protecting developments in Kiambu” he said.
