Former Minister Simeon Nyachae will be buried on Monday, February at his home in Nyosia, Kisii County.
The burial will be a private ceremony after a service on the same day at Nyanturago stadium.
Next week on Thursday a service will be held at the Nairobi Central SDA Church-Maxwell. It will be for the family and friends.
His son Charles Nyachae in a statement to newsrooms said their father died after a long illness.
The politician who was born on February 6, 1932 had served long as Nyaribari Chache MP and as Minister for Agriculture and then Minister for Finance during the Daniel arap Moi regime.
During Mwai Kibaki tenure Nyachae served as Minister for Energy and later Minister for Roads.
He was son of powerful colonial chief Musa Nyandusi who was a friend of Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.
n 1954, he was employed at his father’s chief’s camp as a district clerk and six years later posted as a District Officer in Kangundo Division.
1963 saw him appointed District Commissioner and he would later move up the ranks to Provincial Commissioner, a position he served in from 1965 to 1979.
Nyachae was then appointed as Head of Civil Service & Secretary to the Cabinet in 1979 and served in this capacity until 1987.
His political career began after that but in 1988, the Kanu Governing Council barred him from vying as MP but in 1992 he was elected MP.
He retired from politics in 2007 after losing the Nyaribari Chache seat.
